Race Report Mugello
2025/09/07

The 2025 BOSS GP Racing Series season continued with rounds nine and ten at the stunning Mugello circuit in Tuscany.

FORMULA Pro
In the FORMULA Pro class, Simone Colombo (ITA, MM International) dominated in his 2011 GP2 this weekend. The two-time BOSS GP champion (in 2022 and 2023) overtook pole-setter Max Cuccarese (ITA, MM International) at the start of both races, and maintained his lead despite lapping traffic. Cuccarese, a young driver, switched back from F2 to his MM International team's GP2 car before the weekend and was immediately back in contention for victory. At times in Race 1, he put pressure on his teammate at the front, but an engine problem stopped him early in the second race. Marco Ghiotto (ITA, Scuderia Palladio) secured second place on Sunday, but on Saturday he had to fend off his team-mate Thomas Zeltner (SUI). Zeltner narrowly missed the podium on both days. However, Czech driver Vladimír Netušil (MM International) celebrated third place in race two on his return to the series.

FORMULA
BOSS GP rookie Stephan Miller (AUT, Team Top Speed) came as a big surprise. Driving a GP2/11 from Team Top Speed, he won the FORMULA class race outright. He finished ahead of his teammate Erich Zech (GER) in the first race, with both drivers climbing onto the podium for the first time. Both drivers climbed onto the podium again on Sunday. Stephan Glaser (SUI, Scuderia Palladio) secured valuable points at Mugello. Having sat out one race due to injury, he achieved victory in race two and secured third place in the overall standings, closing the gap on championship leader Paul O'Connell (IRE, HS Engineering). This means that the championship is still open going into the final race at Misano. World Series driver Marco Minelli (ITA, AM Sports System) started the race as favourite, but was hampered by technical problems throughout the weekend.

BOSS GP F1 Class & SUPER LIGHTS
Ingo Gerstl (AUT, Team Top Speed) was the undisputed winner of the BOSS GP Formula 1 category, driving a Toro Rosso STR1. The Austrian dominated the Big Open Single Seater field and recorded the fastest lap times of the year at the Mugello Circuit.
The SUPER LIGHTS title was decided this weekend in favour of Henry Clausnitzer (GER, WF Racing). He thus repeated his triumph from the 2023 season.

The remaining title races will be decided at the final event in Misano from 24 to 26 October 2025.
